The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths on Wednesday nabbed an assistant commissioner of the distilleries wing of the department of prohibition and excise Adavalli Srinivasa Reddy and unearthed assets worth Rs.5.5 crore including One kg gold ornaments which are disproportionate to his legitimate sources of income. He was taken into custody immediately and a case was registered against him.
Searches were conducted at 10 of his properties in city 3 in his native village in Karimnagar. He accumulated this during his 20 years of service, with a current salary of Rs 70,000. Srinivas Reddy is notorious for collecting monthly haftas from all liquor companies as he was in charge of Telangana state.
According to ACB authorities, the accused had acquired the following assets illegally:
15 acres of agriculture land - 3 Independent Houses - 4 Housing Plots - 5 Storey building under construction
Rs 35.76 lakh Aikya Arcade, a ground plus four-storey independent house at Pet Basheerabad
Rs 25L: Flat at Sai Heavens at Ramarajunagar in Old Bowenpally
Rs 25L: House in his father-in-law's village
Rs 22L: 220 sq. yard housing plot at Hasmathpet
Rs 17.5L worth 11.1 kg of gold jewellery
