Vijayawada: Inspired by the success of Amma Canteens in Tamilnadu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh is all set to spread his 'Anna Canteen' concept throughout the state. In a review meeting held with the officials of the department of civil supplies here on Saturday, the Chief Minister ordered to set up Anna Canteens throughout the state. These canteens are aimed at providing breakfast, lunch and dinner at subsidised rates to daily wage workers and to the poor people in Andhra Pradesh.
For a beginning, the Chief Minister asked the officials to set up these in cities and towns. For successful implementation of Anna Canteens, the Chief Minister also asked the officials to study -Amma Unavagam (Amma Canteens) set up by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu where meals are served at subsidised rates. He also asked the officials to hold talks with the cabinet subcommittee and the Akshaya Patra Foundation.
