The city of Hyderabad is all set to host the 20th edition of the International Children Film Festival in November this year. The week long celebration will be held in Shilpakala Vedika from November 8-14.
A decision to this effect has been taken at a preliminary meeting held between the Film Development Corporation and the Children Film Society authorities held in Samachar Bhavan here today. The Commissioner Information and Public Relations Navin Mittal has chaired the meeting and instructed the officials on the arrangements to be made for the successful conduct of the biennial film festival. He asked the FDC and CFSI officials to conduct a joint inspection of the theatres and said that 12 theatres in the city besides all theatre in other districts of the state which he said should be reserved for the festival.
Workshops on film making will be conducted at the Jawahar Bal Bhavan. A media centre will also be set up for the purpose. Accommodation for foreign and child delegates, reservation of preview theatres for Jury screenings, identification of child delegates, foreign delegates and other dignitaries, a constitution of various functional committees and other issues were discussed at the meeting.
