Hyderabad : In an elaborate speech in the state assembly on Tuesday, the Minister for Panchayat Raj accused the opposition of indulging in mudslinging over the state government's prestigious Water Grid project even before its commissioning. He retorted to their allegation of earmarking an whopping Rs 35,000 /- crore to the water grid project, he said that these ministers who were making these allegations have worked earlier in the united AP government cabinet especially under the leadership of last CM Kiran Kumar Reddy. These gentlemen could not even question the same when their boss Kiran Kumar Reddy released seven thousand crore only to his home district Chittoor. 'When a single district requirement was Rs.7,000/ crore for providing drinking water, how many crore it would require for providing water to 10 districts", he questioned.
Govt. regularise Contract Employees : Etela
Finance Minister Etela Rajendar speaking in the assembly on Tuesday categorically remarked that the government would consider in all probability to regularise the contract employees in the state. However, he appealed to them to be patience as his ministry has even worked out estimations to this effect and is set to send the proposals to the government for approval.
Govt. decides to go for price adjustments to complete 25 pending projects
Minister for Irrigation Harish Rao during the question hour said that the government has decided to go in for price adjustments with regard to completion of the 25 ongoing pending projects initiated by the erstwhile government during Dr.YSR period. While, alleging that the previous government has not shown any interest in continuing the projects after its launch. He said the government would go for price adjustments in order to complete them early. It we redesign, call for fresh tenders, all the process would take much time further besides incurring an addtional financial burden of Rs. 15,000 crore on the exchequer. The same can be brought down to Rs.2700 crore if only an price adjustment is made. Hence, the decision, he said and added that the government has brought GO 123 due to which land acquisition works are going on brisk pace in villages falling under these irrigation projects. To complete these projects 41 lakh acres required to acquire. This would soon be completed and water will be given to 29 lakh acres, he declared.
6.25 lakh Deepam Connections will be given given so far : Jagdeesh Reddy
Minister for Power Jagadeesh reddy during his reply to questions raised by Konda Surekha, Bodiga Shobha and Gongadi Sunitha, said that the government has sanctioned 6.25 lakh deepam connections in the state so far and 3.50 lakh connections would be given in the current year.
277 chain snatchings so far : Home Minister
Replying to a written question asked earlier by the Congress MLA DK Aruna, the Home Minister Nayini Narasimha Reddy said that only 277 chain snatching cases have been booked so far in the state whereas 582 chain snatchings were recorded last year.
Meeting tomorrow on Krishna Pushkaralu : Endownment Minister
Endowment minister Indrakaran Reddy announced in the assembly during question hour that a meeting has been called for to discuss the arrangements to be made for the forth coming Krishna Pushkaralu. He said already officials were asked to send in proposals for making arrangements including setting up of bathing ghats along the river Krishna. He said Mahabubnagar district already has 16 bathing ghats while Nalgonda has 19 ghats on the whole as of now. He further said that proposals for sanctioning an amount of Rs,107 crore had been received for making arrangements for Sammakka Saarakka Jatara.
