The much-awaited Indywood Film Carnival took off amidst glamour and glitter at a colourful function held in Ramoji Film City on Friday night with the Chairman of Eenadu group and the founder of Ramoji Film City Ramoji Rao inaugurating the mega event. More than 500 producers from across the world have taken part in the prestigious event besides whose who of film personalities from the Indian film industry.
Veteran Telugu Film director K. Vishwanadh was adjudged with the Life Time Achievement Award, while the veteran artist Jayaprada was honoured with the Icon of Indian Cinema. Several city scribes including Fazil, Qayyum Anwar, Shareef Mohd, RSJ Thomas, Raheem and others were felicitated by presenting them with Indywood Media Excellence Awards on the occasion.
The Chairman of the Indywood Film Carnival Sohan Roy reiterated his commitment to take the Indian Cinema industry to a high pedestal.
The Chairman of the Telangana Film Development Corporation (TS FDC) P Rammohan Rao in his speech said that off late Hyderabad has become a synonym for the Filmmaking besides Charminar and Biryani. As it is, he said, at least 250 films are being produced, making Hyderabad a filmy-hub. The Indywood Carnival will take Hyderabad to an international level', he added.
