Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao said the entire irrigation projects are planned in such a way that every acre of agriculture land in the State will get water for cultivation.
The CM has been personally examining the progress of all the projects since 3 days. The CM examined works going on Rampur and Potharam pump houses in Malayala mandal in Jagtial district on the last day of his Karimnagar tour today. The CM held a review at the Pumphouse with the officials and public representatives. He inquired in depth about the works with the irrigation officials and representatives of the contract agencies.
The CM has instructed the Irrigation Minister Harish Rao and officials that plans for the projects should be done in such way that in Telangana State farmers should no longer look up for the rains to cultivate and every cultivable acre should get water. He has instructed the officials to ensure that farmers should go in for planting in Rabi (Rohini Karthe) and finish all the crop-related works of the Rabi crops.
The CM wanted the officials to be ready to fill up all the tanks in districts under the Godavari Basin on a war footing from next June when all the pump sets of the Kaleswaram projects are ready. He also instructed the officials to prepare estimates for the check dams on rivers and canals so that no acre is left without water. He wanted estimates to be prepared for 4 to 5 check dams on Maner River, 2 to 3 on Moola Vagu River. He wanted the survey to be done before preparing the estimates on check dams whenever they are necessary.
The CM desired that water should be supplied from Devadula via Warangal district to Tungaturthy, Suryapet, and Kodad. He felt that after agriculture fish culture would become the second highest revenue generating profession.
