Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Hyderabad to inaugurate the much-awaited Hyderabad Metro Rail today. He landed at 1.25 pm at Begumpet airport only to be received by the Governor ESL Narasimhan, Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao and the host of other officials and the BJP Party leaders.
The Prime Minister soon after his arrival headed towards the airport gallery where the state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised a brief meet with the party workers who cheered him during his address. He began his speech in Telugu expressing his happiness for coming to the historic city like Hyderabad. 'Whenever I take the name of Hyderabad, the legendary leader Sardar Vallabhai Patel comes to my mind. He is the one who merged Hyderabad city into the Indian Union, he said and paid tributes to him and all those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of freeing Telangana from the Nizam's rule.
He later has flown to Miyapur to inaugurate the Hyderabad Metro Rail by a chopper.
