Activists of National Panthers Party & Indo-Palestine Friendship Society today held a massive demonstration in front of US Embassy in New Delhi condemning the US President Trump for daring to demolish the UN Resolutions namely 242, 338 and others asking USA and Israel to recognise State of Palestine which was carved out by United Nations Resolution 181 in 1947.
The demonstration was led by Chief Pattron of National Panthers Party and Chairperson of Indo-Palestine Friendship Society Prof.Bhim Singh who had a long association with PLO leader President Yasir Arafat in front of US Embassy condemning US President Trump and his policies vis-à-vis State of Palestine appealing the people of the United States of America and rest of the world to honour the UN Resolution 181 (1947), Resolution 242 (1967), Resolution 338 (1973) among others which were unanimously passed by the Security Council of the United Nations and the General Assembly directing Israel to keep off Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories as determined by Resolution 181 (1947) which divided the State of Palestine into Palestine and Israel.
Prof.Bhim Singh had written his thesis on the legality of UN Resolution 181 which was published by the PLO Heaquarters at Beirut in 1968, ‘An Examination of the documents on which State of Israel was created’. Prof.Bhim Singh while addressing the activists condemned the Trump administration and demanded that President Trump should withdraw from his decision to establish US Embassy in Jerusalem which is a grave threat to the world peace.
He said that “in May 1999, the Israeli Government approved a plan to enlarge the area of the settlement of “Maaleh Adumim”, east of Jerusalem, by over 1,300 hectares (3,250 acres), forming a continuous strip of settlements. According to the 1999 report of the Palestinian Rights Committee submitted to the fifty-fourth session of the General Assembly, once completed, the number of settler households in the settlement would increase by an estimated 25 per cent.
The General Assembly, in a resolution adopted on 9 February 1999, reiterated that all legislative and administrative measures and actions taken by Israel, the occupying Power, which had altered or purported to alter the character, legal status and demographic composition of Occupied East Jerusalem and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territory, were null and void and had no validity whatsoever. The General Assembly revisited the question of Jerusalem at its fifty-fifth session. In a resolution adopted on 1 December 2000, the Assembly determined that the decision of Israel to impose its laws, jurisdiction and administration on the Holy City of Jerusalem was illegal and, therefore, null and void. The Assembly also deplored the transfer by some States of their diplomatic missions to Jerusalem in violation of Security.”
Prof.Bhim Singh made a strong appeal to the Members of the United Nations including India to take up the matter before the Security Council without any delay to ensure that international peace and security is not jeopardized by the vicious designs of Trump Govt. of the United States of America which has taken this dangerous step only to pay back his debt to the Jewish community for supporting his candidature for the Presidency of the USA.
Prof.Bhim Singh also declared that the Panthers Party and Indo-Palestine Friendship Society shall move the International Court of Justice at the Hague against the decision of the US President to establish the US Embassy in Jerusalem which is a land of Palestine even according to the resolution 181 which divided Palestine in 1947. Prof.Bhim Singh also appealed Govt. of India to take up this matter with the United Nations without any delay in the interest of international peace and security. The Panthers Party shall hold a seminar on the threat to peace following aggressive acts of Israel against Palestine.
