The Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu released ‘Modati Patham, a book written by noted educationist Chukka Ramaiah at a simple function held here today. Incidentally, the occasion was also marked the birthday of this legendary educationist.
Speaking on the occasion, Naidu congratulated Ramaiah for his efforts in making entry to IITs in the country affordable and accessible to all students rich and poor alike. He appreciated Ramaiah for becoming a reference book for many students and teachers alike in the country. 'The fact that coaching is required to secure a seat in Ramaiah’s institutions is a testimony to the standard of excellence in his institutions, Naidu said.
The Vice President further said that today there is a need to inculcate a sense of pride among students in talking in their own mother tongue, respecting teachers and elders and love for their own country. He also recollected the services rendered by Chukka Ramaiah to the education system and said that many of his students who were educated under him are in high positions in India and abroad today.
The Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari said that Chukka Ramaiah’s book worked timelessly far to make entry into IITs accessible to all meritorious students. He announced that the Telangana Government would provide the book to all state libraries and see that every teacher has a copy.
The Former Chairman of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Dr A. Chakrapani, Telangana Press Academy Chairman Allam Narayana, TSPSC Chairman Ghanta Chakrapani were among those who attended the program.
